HOW WATER FILTRATION WORKS

No matter weather they are using sand, cloth, ceramic or membrane element, the  principle is the same. It is all about the size of the pores which determine the  cleanliness of the water.

NO ROCKET SCIENCE

To have fast water flowing rate…

  1. Use clean water to filter (treated tap water)

  2. New and clean filter element (wash more often)

  3. Use filters with larger pores (high microns)

  4. Increase higher water pressure (using pump)

  5. Lower quality filtered water.

Practicality & Methodology: Our Causes

PRACTICALITY, EFFICIENCY, COST, MAINTENANCE...

Big project like these are good initiatives but not practical.

They were not sustainable because of high maintenance cost and expensive replacement parts.

CENTRALIZE WATER FILTER STATION

Specifications:

Centralize Water Filter Station

Type: Ceramic / UF Membrane / Sand

Power source: Gravity feed

Porosity: Depending on the filtering element used

Capacity: Variable

Water output: Depending on the condition of the filtering elements

Benefactors: Government agencies, NGO, Corporations

Setback:

1. High cost to build. Require infrastructure

2. High maintenance  cost. Expensive replacement parts

3. Require laying of long pipes which often leak and break.

4. Water source from the river become muddy when it rain.

5. Input water quality is not controllable. The water container need to be wash regularly.

6. No water feed during dry season.

7. Clean water is not pipe to individual houses and many can be a long distant from the filter station.

8. Maintaining the facility will be the biggest challenge.
